Years on my own
Eighteen years. That's how long it took me to learn, without ever truly mastering anything. Photoshop, then Illustrator, InDesign, a brief attempt at After Effects quickly abandoned. My friend Almin made my first logo on Photoshop for 50 CHF,I went by "Diamond Concept", convinced I had something. Then came "Start-up Design": the first sketch of an intention, to help those just starting out. Then "Pixello", barely a disguised copy of Tommy Hilfiger's art direction. I had taste. Just not yet my own.
But while others were specialising, I understood something: my clients,SMEs with needs as broad as they were unstructured, weren't looking for a narrow expert. They were looking for someone who understands everything. So I turned my scattered knowledge into a method. Thirty percent in every domain. But the right vocabulary, the right trends, the right instincts, and the judgment to know when to use them.
Then AI arrived. In a matter of months, it gave me back the 70% I'd been missing across every domain, simultaneously. Productivity multiplied by thirty. Every pain point gone. Free time reclaimed. What I had believed was a weakness for eighteen years turned out to be the perfect position to welcome the shift.
